40 Watt Solar Panels

If you need a battery charger I was looking at some nice 40 watt panels. Powereco for example is building a following. It’s just a 40 watt panel but people seem to be happy so far. Like all panels if using for battery charging you will need a controller (unless you’re running something like a fan) You can always run in series to start stacking up the voltages. Usually a panel is 18v optimum power voltage.

Now if you get a nice charger the panel suddenly opens up to use on an RV, truck, your boat, watering the field, green house needs, etc. This particular powereco I was reading about was excellent with snow loads also and high winds. It’s made of lightweight anodized aluminum and had anti-reflection coated glass. And what I liked a waterproof junction box.

There’s all kinds of brands on amazon now, it’s just a matter of wading through all the reviews and find the ones with the specs you like.

One good panel setup by eco-worthy, (if it’s not showing above, just click on any of them and you can check it out on amazon if you want) has a pre-installed 3A solar charger controller protecting your system from over-charge, over-discharge, over-load, and reverse-connection. That’s nice to have onboard, not much to it but makes a big difference. It’s a nice fold up job with nice hinges. Take a look at the close ups, that hinge is connected well for a small hinge.

Comes with nice cabling to get started. If nothing else you can keep batteries topped off and maybe throw in internet usage. For people in the woods so to speak it beats running a generator and all the expense and time involved. I would say it would pay for itself pretty quick.

These portable systems (meaning charger included) are getting so small you just fold and put in the trunk of your car. All you need is a batteries and you’re good to go. Some people like the light weight and others said it was nice and light but the legs could be a little more sturdy. You will notice once you start looking, these portable systems are made by a lot of companies so like anything else the higher the price, the nicer components you’re going to have out of the gate. If you’re just getting started on a budget then give these units a look.

all right so this is a 25 watt home energy access system and it runs on a 40 watt solar panel there’s a commercially available small 40 watt solar panel available at around the 80 to 100 rupees per watt so the total cost of the solar panel would be around 4,000 to 5,000 rupees at my AK max then this is a Samson commercially available ac/dc 12 watt LED TV it’s a 23 inch actually high contrast ratio LTV capable of playing 1080 pixels per square inch and this commercially sells at around 250 dollars so roughly about 14,000 to 15,000 rupees in the African market and consumes only 12 watts also and this is Sanford SEL standard the cell phone charger this is a radio each consuming about half watt to a watt each then these two are the LED lamps so this is the LED bulb about five watts commercially available everywhere in the world retails for about 200 to 300 rupees this is an LED tube length about two watts and both are retail available in the retail market the lumen efficiency is very high in the ballpark of 80 200 lumens per watt and the measured alumina efficiency is actually higher than 100 so 8200 is the manufacturer defined human efficiency and this is a brushless DC fan retails for about thousand to two hundred rupees consumes only about five to six watt depending on the speed setting that you choose so the highest speed would be about 6 watt the lowest speed would be about 5 watts and so on so the whole system 5 watts for the fan six to seven words for the lighting system one word for the for the cellphone charger and the radio and 12 watts for the TV consumes only about 25 to 26 watts and can be powered with this small solar panel which typically is actually used to power only two CFLs or one incandescent bulb in the rural households as of now so that’s why this is a game-changing opportunity in the energy access Eddie wait not only in India but also globally so there are two main reasons why this system would make sense one with the same capital investment you’re actually providing significantly higher energy services so in the typical conventional system with this panel all you could give is one lighting point or two lighting points at most that’s it but related to that this is a huge energy service improvement that’s number one and number two from the private sector perspective the risk that the private sector takes in the off-grid market essentially equivalent to the solar panels so with the same risk profile for the private sector one can actually increase the energy services and secondly even if the grid electricity comes to villages or those areas and the super efficient appliances are still good is the scale going to stay and they’re still going to continue saving electricity so which is not really the case in the conventional off-grid solar energy access market which essentially comprises only of the lighting points one or two lighting points so when the grid comes the usability of that entire system essentially goes away and the third key aspect of the super efficient system in the object space is because since you’re avoiding the solar panel investment the avoided cost of electricity is very high in the awkward space on that’s why super efficient appliances have a very high value in the ocular space than in the regular exactly
